Auditions for 2024–25 Season

Chicago Choral Artists is holding auditions for its 2024–25 Season on April 6 (9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.), April 7 (2:00–6:00 p.m.), and April 8 (5:00–8:00p.m.). Please read the information below to learn about the process of scheduling an audition.

Inclusive diversity and equity are values of Chicago Choral Artists. We believe that choral music should be enjoyed by all people and encourage and embrace our collective differences. Historically, fine arts organizations have disproportionately bypassed marginalized people in society, including people of color and LGBTQ individuals. We believe that these communities are essential to our music making. We strongly encourage people from these communities or identities to submit their resumes for an audition. Our success will come from a chorus of many different voices.

Rehearsals are generally on Tuesday evenings from 7:00–10:00 p.m., with occasional additional rehearsals. Artists receive an hourly stipend. It is preferable that all singers have a professional or collegiate choral experience on their resume. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances for our 2024–2025 season will be at Grace Lutheran Church and School, 7300 Division Street, River Forest, Illinois. Please enter at the main entrance (glass doors) on Bonnie Brae.

Only one absence per concert set is permitted. Please do not sign up for an audition if you do not intend to be faithful in your attendance at rehearsals. Attendance at all dress rehearsals and performances is mandatory. The season schedule is listed below.

Audition Process for Current Singers of CCA (2 choices)

1.          Record a video of you singing a single selection (art song, aria, or musical theatre; foreign language is okay) and you vocalizing to demonstrate range. E-mail video to the Artistic Director before April 8.

2.          Make an appointment for a live audition HERE, where you will sing your selection and vocalize.

Audition Process for New Singers

1.          Please submit your choral or vocal resume as a Microsoft Word or PDF document. Please indicate clearly which voice part you sing most comfortably, and your choral/vocal experiences with names of conductors/directors. Please send resumes to manager@chicagochoralartists.org.

2.          Once you are invited to audition, please sign up for a time HERE.

3.          Audition for the Artistic Director by singing the following:

·             2 contrasting selections (art song, aria, or musical theatre; one or both in a foreign language)

·             Vocalizing (to demonstrate range, provided)

·             Sight-reading (provided)
