The audition process lasts approximately twenty minutes and consists of four parts:
- extensive vocalization
- tonal memory
- basic sight-reading
- prepared song
Please arrive warmed-up for the audition. Dress casually.
During the vocalization portion you will be asked to sing various vocalises
including one to be executed without vibrato.
The prepared song should be a single stanza of a folksong or hymn to be sung
unaccompanied. It should demonstrate your most comfortable, free,
in-tune, expressive tone -- nothing virtuosic or range-taxing. It need not be
memorized. (ex: The Turtle Dove, The Water is Wide, Amazing Grace)
Regular Rehearsals are Tuesdays 7:15-9:30.
